Shrieking I.
best breakfast I've had in a long time and I eat a lot of breakfast. I got stuffed French toast, bacon, and hash browns. everything was perfect. the service was very good.

Slow service and for having the word pancakes in its name the pancakes were just ok. But if you spend the day hiking at manitou incline you will be ready to eat anything. If they have it - try the spinach omelette. For being divey I thought the prices were kind of high.

Staffing problems caused me to stand out in the cool wind for 15 minutes in the dark. Posted hours from 6am to 2pm but the doors opened for business at 623am. Red, white and blue assaulted me inside. Very patriotic and quaint. Proud to be an American. The restaurant was clean and gleamed bright. Fresh black coffee hit the spot and warmed the bones. The biscuits and gravy were palatable. The gravy was odd tangy and scarce on the sausage bits. It was worth it for the price, one biscuit sliced in half and covered with the luke warm gravy. I was grateful for the meal as I was famished. With limited breakfast spots in Manitou Springs, this place is a go to spot. Overall I was not impressed. Try all breakfast nooks in town for different variety. You'll be glad you did.

The Food was bland (hot sauce helps and they give you about 5 to choose from I now see why), Mushrooms from a can, just overall cheap ingredients and the portions were so so for the price. Took a while for anyone to take our order and they were fairly slow it seemed at the time we were there. The Staff was polite, there was no issue there. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. Sad to say but we Won't be returning, sorry. Amazing staff feels like a family run business. Food was tasty and hot. Servers were very polite and kind to my family. We've been visiting for three days and we've ate there every morning. A+++++++++. Would def recommend.

Waited 40 minutes to be seated, server was OK, he put our food down came back in two minutes left tab. Did I mention that there were seven empty tables whe n we were waiting! And food was OK at best!
(2)Nicholas B.
I guess it's good for me that no one noticed me standing in the waiting area for 5 or 10 min. I shouldn't be enjoying biscuits & gravy or buttermilk pancakes after I hike the Barr Trail. So instead of supporting locally own establishments, I opted for Starbucks. I'll try again some other day. Maybe

The food here is good. I had the breakfast combo.... Sausage, 2 eggs and 3 pancakes. It's typical breakfast fare. My girlfriend had the chili releno and loved it. The menu has a good selection to chose from.

Okay so there Decour may be a little cheesy but I didn't come here for the Interior design work okay? Let me tell you this place is only one thing F-A-N-T-A-S-T-IC!! The best little breakfast spot I have found in Colorado yet!! Simple not fancy as one put it but a sheer delightful none the less! Seafood Omelette was flavorful & cooked perfect on two occasions. So It was great having that kind of consistency and it was yummy for certain. The corn beef hash was crazy good and we will miss it back in Texas.Coffee was hot,Nice selection of jams, jelly & apple butter right at the table for your toast. That was cool. My coffee was hot and the waitress attending to us was a nice enough sweet girl.I would definitely come here again and certainly suggest it to others. It was a great way to start our day on a lovely hike with our dogs & I was so full I even had leftover pancake left for them ;)
(5)Trina S.
Good place to go when you want some very good breakfast. My favorite thing on their menu is the biscuits and gravy. To die for, so good and for a reasonable price too. You don't have to pay out of pocket for an expensive breakfast but so simple in pricing. I would recommend this place to anyone who must have breakfast but for a reasonable price.
(5)Stefanie B.
Adore this place! The food is so so so good... I also think the decor is unique and fun. Only problem is that they are not open for the afternoon... we always seem to miss them on our way through Colorado Springs area. The omelets are delicious and the pancakes are the best in Southern Colorado. Get there before 2pm and enjoy a delicious breakfast!
(4)Annette W.
I had the blueberry stuffed French toast and bacon. All I can say is "tasty".... The French toast were perfectly done and the blueberries were fresh. The bacon was thick sliced and just crispy enough. The customer service was fantastic and the price was right! Loved it :)

My wife and I enjoy local breakfast spots when we travel. We have fallen in love with Uncle Sam's. The pancakes are awesome but we have tried omelettes and other breakfast items. All are incredible! As if good food wasn't reason enough to eat there, the service is over the top. My coffee cup never got to half full that someone wasn't filling it up. Who knows how many quarts of coffee I end up getting there at each meal. Wow! Incredible!
(5)Karen K.
If you are looking for a place where the locals go, this would be it. Uncle Sam's is an all american diner with great food. I personally have never been let down by the service, food, portions, or price (and I dont know anyone else who has either). The only thing missing is Nicky. :(
(5)Elaine O.
Good food and great service. Home cooking taste. Gravy was yummy and pancakes were light and fluffy. Coffee was good too.
(5)Mesha C.
Great service, good breakfast food. Generous portions, fast service. All good. Thank you Uncle Sam.
(4)Jim K.
If you are looking for a simple down home meal, this is a decent place. Fun atmosphere with the Uncle Sam theme. The place was bustling with locals, and as a result the service was a little slow. Nothing fancy, just good breakfast staples.
(3)Rick C.
Walked to this restaurant from the Best Value Inn Villa for breakfast before taking the Cog Railroad up the the summit of Pikes Peak. We had a very good breakfast.
(4)Pamela P.
We come back to Manitou every couple of years when coming to Colorado. The food is always good. My husband and I got a basic egg and meat type breakfast with hash browns and my son got the lunch chicken fried steak. Everything was good.
(4)RL F.
Friendly service, great good, awesome quality. Portion size was amazing for the price you pay you get oh so much more!!
(4)Laura C.
Ate there today, great Hash browns and biscuits and gravy, decent coffee. Nothing fancy but a very good breakfast at a fair price, decent service. We will return.
(4)Cielo G.
Don't want to be too harsh, but this is a poor rendition of IHOP. Poor quality ingredients, as well as the service. If gorging on french toast or pancakes is your thing, they've got a contest you can join. The winner gets their picture framed and hung by the front door.
(2)Dave K.
Yes they have butter and country crock. They have awesome French toast. The all you can eat french toast is a great value and the toast is done right.
(4)Jourdan F.
I would rather go to Denny's or IHOP! How in the world is this place still in business and always crowded? It smells and the bathrooms are terrible! The waitstaff is VERY old and half are sweet old ladies and the other are grouchy! Cheap but gross food. Environment was SO forgettable, just blah. Seriously, if someone suggests dining here, opt for something else!
(1)David C.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Nice portions. Great staff. Good food. Nice value for the money. My only complaint would be I thought the interior needed attention (booths with duct tape on seats and floors near walls could use a good scrub). I will return to this business on my next visit. Thanks.
(4)Kim C.
Uncle Sams was great! Delicious food that came out really fast with great service! A great find!
(4)Jim M.
Excellent food. Big pancakes, well cooked.omlettes. Giant cinnamon roles. Comfy seats.

I really wanted to like this place but it just fell short for me. Went there for breakfast. The ambiance is cute, older little pancake house feel. The staff is wonderful but that's kinda where it stops. The value for the money is not great nor are the ingredients, they don't even have fresh fruit. The pancakes are ok definitely have has better and the omelettes are small compared to other places in the area and the relative price. Will not be returning again unfortunately. There are better options out there.

yeaouch....where do I start? bathrooms right by the entrance that someone had just blown up, so that was the smell we were greeted with...not a good start fish tasting bacon-worst I've had and I've never had the fish bacon variety, so strike 2 4th of July themed restaurant with a bunch of old flag memorabilia in a weird, weird town was strike 3...definitely check out Manitou though-very interesting spot and a theme of "keep Manitou weird" throughout the town-congrats Manitou-mission accomplished

Well, I had to go with the true Yelp definition of two stars. I have in fact experienced much better. The food isn't too bad but I feel like it's overpriced for what you get. I know that some people enjoy this place for the local breakfast joint feel. But it's almost to the point of being ran on their last dime. I've come here multiple times before after I do the incline but on my last visit my friend was served spoiled chocolate milk. Which I found completely unacceptable for a place that shouldn't have a large excess of product that may allow an overlooked thing such as this. On a good note you can't go wrong with the chicken fried steak and eggs here. It's so typical but damn is it good. Overall, decent food and a lazy atmosphere with the need for a more desirable waiting staff and a cheaper menu.

Pancakes were dry, waitress said, "add mor syrup". Will not go back! I should have guessed when there were no cars in the lot an hour after opening.
(1)Brandon L.
I was a little hesitant to stop by given the negative reviews but we had a great experience. I had the chicken fried steak and my friend had the blueberry pancakes. The service was great... The restaurant appeared to be clean... And the prices were fair. We go up and climb the incline periodically and are always looking for a quick place to get a bite afterwards... We will definitely dine here again.

Ambiance: Small restaurant, obviously the home of a former I-Hop, circa 1960's. Small and narrow, with a steeped roof. Somewhat of a red, white and blue decorating theme, that isn't really carried out, sparsely decorated. Place looks like it was last "fluffed up" in the 1980s, and is in need of a little modernization. Service: Mediocre. Waitress was pretty standard, not very engaged. LONG waits for coffee cup to be refilled, despite only one other table of diners there at 1030am. For what it is and how slow it was, food took a little longer to arrive than it should have. Food: Not good at all. Ordered scrambled eggs that were overcooked by several minutes, very dry with the curds falling apart (didn't finish). Since it bills itself as a "pancake house", I ordered a short stack as well. Tasted like straight from boxed pancake mix (nothing special at all), served with fake butter (Yes, I CAN believe it isn't butter), along with a syrup that is so thin, it pours just like water -- watered down to save on expenses I guess. Overall, don't understand why this place is in business. The prices are really cheap, so I guess that is their draw, that and the fact that they can lure unsuspecting tourists in from the nearby motels, that don't read yelp, and don't know that just up the street in Downtown Manitou or east one mile in Old Colorado City are several really good options for breakfast. If this place were to close up, I doubt anyone would miss it.

Pretty decent little place to grab some breakfast grub. Standard breakfast fare at a fair price.
(4)Tommy N.
Wow, I'm surprised this place has so many negative reviews. We eat breakfast here every year when we come down for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, and have never been disappointed. I wish I could remember our server's name because she was absolutely amazing.

Breakfast stop. For all the years I lived in Colorado Springs, I never stopped at this small restaurant just outside the main drag in Manitou Springs. The building is showing its age, inside and out. It was pretty busy, though, so that's a good sign. They serve breakfast all day and have a selection of hot and cold sandwiches. My meal was the Breakfast Burrito. Eggs & cheese inside a flour tortilla and topped with Green Chile (with pork). On the side I ordered Home Fries.
